About us

Serving truth in an age of noise

ICMF was founded with the conviction that Christian media professionals—wherever they serve—have a God-given role in shaping the stories, conversations, and images that form our world. We believe that God sends people into newsrooms, studios, design rooms, boardrooms, production houses, and digital platforms not by coincidence, but as a calling. Every headline we write, every frame we capture, every program we produce, every piece of code we build, and every strategy we design becomes a thread in a much larger narrative. Through our work, we have the opportunity to reflect wisdom, compassion, and truth at a time when the world is starved for all three.

The media landscape today moves at overwhelming speed. It is complex, fragmented, and often exhausting. People everywhere are drowning in information yet longing for meaning. In this environment, Christians in media—whether serving inside Christian organizations or in mainstream and secular spaces—carry a profound responsibility. Our work is more than a career path; it is a witness. Excellence becomes an act of integrity. Fairness becomes an expression of love. Creativity becomes stewardship. And truth-telling becomes one of the ways we help people see hope again.

Someone once described journalists as “disciplers of the public,” and I believe there is something deeply true in that. We are truth-tellers who use story, image, sound, technology, and craft to help people make sense of the world. In an age overflowing with information—and yet starving for discernment—we have the privilege and the burden of helping audiences find what is real.

Scripture gives us a powerful model for this kind of work. In Luke 1:1–4, the evangelist explains that he investigated everything carefully and wrote an orderly account “so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.” His approach is one of careful research, honest reporting, clarity, and a deep desire to serve the reader. For every Christian in media, Luke offers a timeless picture of how truth can be communicated with integrity and love.

ICMF exists to support, equip, and connect those who carry this calling. We are a global fellowship of editors, journalists, designers, filmmakers, broadcasters, digital creators, technical specialists, business developers, administrators, and many others who share a desire to honor Christ in their craft. Through our General Assembly, affinity groups, task forces, leadership programs, and year-round collaboration, we work to strengthen one another so that calling and competence can grow together.

Our vision is not only to champion high standards in communication, but to build a family—a community that prays together, learns together, and encourages one another to persevere. Media work can be demanding and at times isolating. But when we walk alongside each other, we remember that we are part of a story far greater than our own: a story that God himself is writing across nations, cultures, and generations.

Together, we can help shape media that reflects the hope of the gospel and serves the common good.

Sincerely in Christ,

Timothy Goropevsek
General Secretary, ICMF

Brief history

The International Christian Media Fellowship (ICMF) was formed in the year 2000 as a loose fellowship of Christians serving in various areas of media. From its inception, ICMF has welcomed not only reporters and editors but also producers, designers, broadcasters, IT professionals, and others engaged in communication and storytelling. Over the years, the fellowship has hosted gatherings in Asia, Europe, and the United States, providing a platform for worship, collaboration, and professional growth. Today, ICMF has grown to include media professionals from dozens of Christian and secular publications worldwide, united by a shared commitment to truth, excellence, and faith-informed engagement in media.

Role of Christians in media

Christians in media play a vital role as communicators of truth, hope, and integrity in a world shaped by powerful narratives. Whether serving in Christian media or secular outlets, they are called to reflect biblical values through excellence, honesty, and compassion in their work. Their presence in newsrooms, studios, and digital platforms provides a witness that transcends words—shaping culture, promoting justice, and helping audiences discern truth in an age of information overload.

Statement of faith

We believe in the Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We believe in One God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and His Personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the Salvation of lost and sinful man through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith apart from works, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

We believe in The Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the Unity of the Spirit of all true believers, the Church, the Body of Christ.

We believe in the Resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
